These batteries are counterfeits worst case, or gray market best case. I got 6 packages of 4 batteries instead of the single 24-pack pictured. And the packages say “Alkaline Batteries”, and do not say Duracell on them anywhere. If you google for “duracell fake” or “duracell counterfeit”, there are lots of pages and YouTube videos showing the differences. The batteries themselves say Duracell, so it’s possible they were bought in bulk and repacked or something, but either way, something is not right with this. They are not the same as if I went to a local store and bought them. They work, but I wonder what else is wrong with them, like maybe they don’t have the same lifespan or mAH of regular Duracell batteries.Ordinarily I wouldn’t be too concerned, but this in case I specifically paid for the Duracell name brand batteries because I wasn’t impressed with the lifespan of the Amazon Basics AA batteries, so I bought these expecting them to be legit, and they are definitely not.

These batteries work great for one or two cycles and then quickly degrade to a point where they hold very little charge. The early versions of these batteries were made in Japan and were essentially rebranded Eneloops but that is no longer the case. They are now made in China and are the absolute worst quality rechargeable batteries I have ever used. I believe the vast number of positive reviews were for the early version battery and do not account for the change in manufacturing that has taken place. Unfortunately I bought quite a few and did not catch how bad the quality was until after the warranty had expired. I wanted to share my experience so that others don’t fall into the same trap. Best of luck if you decide to take the plunge!

I buy nothing but Duracell. They are remarkably long lived and I am well aware of what I can expect from the product. I put these in towards the end of December 2016. I put them in some battery powered candles with the moving plastic flame and I haven’t had them on for more than a couple of minutes at a time to show some friends. The candles are quite clever.Well, I thought that I would get another short look at the candles today, May 9, and only 1 of the 5 candles worked. Each uses 3 batteries. This is not the performance that Duracell provides. I am not certain as to how these came to be sold on Amazon but they are not as advertised.I will stick with the hardware store sales of the Duracell. These have a 10 year shelf like? Not even 6 months.

Purchased this in April 2017, all batteries are dated 2021. Batteries lasted only a month in Atomic Clock, replaced the batteries in May from same package, batteries dead again after one month. Tested remaining batteries in the package with a known/working device. They’re all dead? Defective batch???? Beware, great price but they don’t last long.

I’ve been buying AA and AAA batteries from Amazon Basics for a couple of years now. They recently changed the packaging (and presumably the manufacturer) and now they only last half as long. I tried a pair of Duracell AAs to test my hypothesis and they lasted almost three times as long. I wanted to stop buying these Amazon batteries, but it turns out that, at around $0.25 each and $0.90 for Duracell, they’re still cheaper overall than buying name brand. However, it is extremely disappointing to watch them deliberately drop the quality and force us to purchase batteries more frequently. They’ve basically pulled a bait-and-switch with us, sucking us in with high quality batteries and then trading them out for lemons without dropping the price commensurately. Their packaging may be frustration-free, but these batteries sure aren’t.

Not only did a few batteries leak they ruined one of my Gideon Flameless LED candles. I am so disappointed. I thought that with the Amazon name I would have a quality product. I purchase many products from the Amazon website.I would like a refund and a replacement for the ruined Gideion Flameless LED candle. I purchased three candles and the 6 inch candle is ruined.

Batteries are not in original Duracell sealed package. The picture is deceptive. I was excepting these batteries to be in original package as shown in the picture. Since they are not in original package, I tested these batteries with a meter and they read 1.6V.These batteries are Made in China. Other Duracell batteries I purchased are Made in USA.

The product came in a frustration free paper box, as shown in the attached photos. They where made in 2017/10. The batteries are made in Japan, and has a rated capacity of 750mAh.I popped four of these these straight into my old LaCross BC-900 battery charger to test. They were partially charged showing a uniform voltage of 1.34V (or around 89% full). After one cycle, the capacity reads out to be 762/805/788/821. After around 4 cycles, it improved to 821/802/827/847. Note that the LaCross charger doesn’t always give consistent results on mine, but it’s a good idea about the range of capacity, which are significantly higher than the rated 720mAh.There were many speculations that these are regular Eneloops (as opposed to the pros which are rated 900mAh+). It’s not the first time this has happened, and I have purchased similar rebranded Eneloops in the past (such as some old Duracell NiMH). The fact these are made in Japan limits the number of suppliers available, and that they hold over the stated capacity is also something that’s almost exclusive to Eneloops. Finally, it’s also said that while Panasonic owns the Eneloop brand, Fujitsu still has the right of production, and have been making them for the likes of Amazon, IKEA, Duracell, etc.At half the price of regular Eneloops at the time of this writing, and possibly even less when on sale, these are truly the best bargains out there for the finest NiMH available on the market. While it can be argued that the Eneloops are probably worth the ever higher asking price, it’s impossible to overlook that these are very likely the same goods for much less. Seeing how other cheaper NiMH tend to fail to perform, and having used Eneloops and their rebranded cells for over a decade, I’d say these are quite the bargain if you are in the market for LSD NiMH rechargeables.Lastly, there are also higher capacity variants available from  AmazonBasics AAA High-Capacity Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack) Pre-charged – Packaging May Vary , which along with Ikea Ladda are supposed to be the Eneloop Pros, in case you might need those as they rival Alkaline in capacity and endurance.

Don’t buy these. I did save a bunch of $’s, however once I started using them I have had at least 8 of them explode, leak and corrode. I use them in power blinds and had 2 of the battery cartridges for the blinds destroyed….costing $20 each to be replaced. Move on…don’t purchase these. To late to get my money back because I wanted these on hand for when the originals failed, which started in Jan 2018.8 failures in 3 months once I started using them costing me over $40 to replace the damaged battery holders.

Quality alkaline AA batteries at a good price. You know we’re always being bombarded by TV and other advertising at how great small batteries can be. I decided that it would be fun to put them to the test. I used a Fluke digital multimeter which I calibrated using a D.C. precision regulated power supply which was checked on a Tektronix scope for accuracy. Out of the box fresh I measured 4 different brands of AA cells first with no load just using the Fluke Multimeter. First the Delcos measured 1.63 volts without a load and 1.54 with a flashlight bulb load. Excellent way above rated specifications. The Duracell and energizer were almost as good measuring 1.53 under load, again very good. The Batteries from BJ’s didn’t do as well only measuring 1,.4 under load and 1.5 with no load. Conclusion: The AC DElco AA batteries performed as good as the much more expensive Duracell and energizer batteries and are well worth buying. This applies if you use a lot of these guy’s for remote controls or other small electric battery powered devices. Well worth the money and highly recommended as indicated by a usage test with accurate equipment.

I usually love Amazon products, but hate these batteries. A pack of 36 AAA were purchased in 2015 and used in a number of items, ranging from clocks, multi-meters, IR temperature gauges, etc. Every single one of these devices that I have placed the Amazon batteries in, and left them for a couple years, has leaked causing serious damage to the product. Duracell and Energizer batteries have never leaked on me. Spend more money and get a quality battery that will not leak. Amazon should not be selling such a poor product that has caused many times the batteries original purchase price to my electronic devices.

These batteries do not work. I’m not quite sure how they are rusty? I don’t live at the beach & i only used them for night lights inside my house for my daughter to see at night. They worked for maybe 2 nights. Terrible! I’m stuck with tons of these stupid useless batteries now. Wish i never bought them. I’ll stick with 10 battries for a buck at the dollar tree at least they work for a month before i need to change them. Save your money.

I ordered 16 of these batteries as I thought that I had been using them since they came out and was very pleased with their great performance and long life.Once I received them and began using them in my numerous outdoor Led Flickering candles and hanging lanterns I could not figure out why they did not last as long???? It did not take me long to investigate and discover that they were not the same as the previous flat black batteries that I had been using. They were only 1900 mAh and not the 2400mAh of the older ones. Trust me that 500mAh difference makes a big difference in how long they last after a full charge. I’ve been using Amazon Rechargeable batteries since their inception and thought I knew everything to know about them. I learned better as I did not pay attention when I ordered them.If you want better and longer performance, as I do, order the newer AmazonBasics AA High-Capacity Rechargeable Batteries (8-Pack) Pre-charged. “High-Capacity” being the key wording! They sell for $18.95 an 8 Pack and are well worth the $4.00 difference in price! They are the silver-Grey ones that have the bright green ring around the + end.

Window shade remote takes 2 AAA batteries. I bought a 16-pack of Duracell, and the first two I tried didn’t work. Hmm… Took those out and tried two more from the fresh pack. Still no juice! What?! I retrieved the 2 Panasonic batteries that I had put in the trash and tried them. Bingo! The shades rolled up and down like a charm. (I change batteries yearly, not not just when they die out.) The 5-star company I ordered from “does not offer refunds.” LOL 5 stars from whom?? The Amazon rep I spoke to quickly and graciously did offer me a refund, however. BTW, I had called Duracell first, and they said “Don’t buy batteries online.” The AA I bought at the same time from another company on Amazon are working great, but the AAA were junk.

Owning nearly a dozen assorted electronics that require the use of this size battery (AA), I was constantly visiting the local ‘Big Box’ store for replenishment. I purchased this product with the mindset that if only half of the batteries worked, I was still ahead of the game cost wise. Lo & behold, not only did the batteries work, they exceeded the normal replacement time of the previously used ‘Named Brand’ batteries by about 25%! And at about 1/3 of the price, I am “VERY HAPPY”! I did NOT find a bad battery in the box, and I am on my second box of 100. This has been a very pleasant surprise.

I tested the AA size Amazon brand battery to find out the actual usable capacity as compared to the AA Duracell Procell battery. The results showed that the Amazon battery is about 88 percent the capacity of the Duracell. If you calculate the cost per unit capacity, the batteries are almost identical. The Amazon battery was actually slightly more expensive when represented in cost per Watt-Hour. Because of this I would probably choose the Procell (if I can get a good price on it) just because it means less frequent battery changes. The Amazon battery is a surprisingly good battery though. You will probably barely notice the difference in capacity, so if you don’t want to waste time shopping around then its a good choice.I also performed the same test on Duracell Copper Top, and Energizer Max. Their performance was nearly identical to the Procell. More interestingly, I tested the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA cell. This cell was 4 times the cost of a procell at $1.27 per cell! However the capacity was only 1.5 times that of the Procell. So don’t waste your money on these batteries, they’re much more expensive per unit of capacity. The capacity of all these batteries were measured in Watt-Hours. Here are the numbers.AA Amazon Battery = 2.71 Wh. My cost per cell = $0.291. Cost per Watt-Hour = $0.107AA Duracell Procell = 3.09 Wh. My cost per cell = $0.321. Cost per Watt-Hour = $0.104AA Energizer Lithium = 4.86 Wh. My cost per cell = $1.27. Cost per Watt-Hour = $0.261This test was done using an op-amp circuit to maintain a constant current load at 100ma. Voltage and current were being logged ounce per minute and this data was used to calculate the Amp-Hour with a 0.8 volt cutoff. The Watt-Hour was then calculated by multiplying the Amp-Hour by the average voltage from the beginning of the test to 0.8 volts. All batteries mentioned were tested using this same method. Note that the capacity of these batteries can change dramatically under different conditions. The same battery under a heavy load will have a fraction of the capacity that it would under a light load. This data is only good for a comparison when choosing what battery is worth buying at what price. Unless your device loads the battery at a constant current of 100ma.In summery, the Amazon batteries are not bad batteries (at least based on this test using the AA cell). If you choose to shop around for a name brand battery, stay at or below $0.33 per cell. Anything above $0.33 per cell will be more expensive per unit capacity than the Amazon battery. Oh, and definitely stay away from the Energizer Lithium unless expense is not an issue. These batteries are only worth the additional cost if your application requires a light weight and relatively high capacity battery regardless of cost. These batteries are surprisingly light weight compared to an alkaline.lkaline.

Unfortunately these batteries are not a quality product. I purchased a carton of them with expiration dates of 2027 yet they go dead quickly and LEAK! The only reason I tried this brand is due to many Duracell failures over the past couple of years including longevity and leakage. It seems to be a constant battle these days finding a decent battery at any price point and I’ll assure you that THESE are NOT a decent battery. So now what? Well, I attempt to locate each piece of equipment into which these leakers were installed and replace them with a different brand. Not to mention I’ll need to toss the remaining “good” (and I use that term loosely) batteries.

I have had it with Duracell batteries! They leak! They have ruined two of my remote controls and many flashlights! These used to be the best on the market but since manufacturing went to China “Durability” went in the toilet! I will never buy another Duracell product!

I buy my batteries here on Amazon, and am usually more than satisfied. I decided to try these AC Delcos after reading some reviews (not on Amazon) and just knowing that making batteries is what they do. I used these mostly in kids toys from Christmas, and found they didn’t last as long as I thought they would. Granted, there is no scientific study going on here, and toys could have been left on longer than I knew, so I’m not saying they are not a good buy, and they are much better than the $1 batteries from Dollar General or similar stores. I usually buy they Amazon basics batteries and have found these to be just as good as Energizer or other top rated batteries. I’ll go back to buying the Amazon batteries for toys and other high use items, and use the AC Delcos for remotes, clocks, and other items that don’t use as much “juice” to keep running.

My son absolutely loves this little leapfrog 2 in 1 laptop/tablet I got him for Christmas, but the batteries died and none of the regular AA batteries worked for it. I went on amazon and found these that were similar to the AA batteries in his laptop. When I placed the order it first said it would take a month, then switched to two weeks, and then 4 days later they arrived in my mailbox to my surprise! They worked instantly with my sons laptop and are going strong almost a month later. I highly recommend these batteries based on my experience!

0.2watt target load testAmazon Basics $26.99 for 100 = 9.06 cents per watt hour.AC Delco $24.49 for 100 = 9.72 cents per watt hour (93% of Amazon Basics value).Other batteries of lower cost and higher cost did not come close to these two value per $The only time you should buy other higher cost Duracell or Eveready is if the value is not important as the inconvenience of changing the battery more often or the liability like microphones going out during a concert.

I enjoyed this batteries and the price. I have not done any measured testing on how long they last. But so far using it on my keyboards and mice have worked well. Also I’ve used them in my remote controls. They are obviously not rechargable, in case someone is wondering.

I’d say they’re superior to most of the dollar store varieties. Actually… all of them. These are pretty good quality. Definitely would recommend for anyone not using a super high drain device, or something that’s mission critical. You wanna put these in your TV remote and forget about it? These are your batteries. Clock on the wall? These. Some sort of life-saving device? No. Don’t cheap out, buddy.Only issue (if you can call it that) is that it’s a huge pack! I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to use all these. Between my TI-83, TI-84 and a couple clocks (and of course my TV remote) I’m pretty well set for the next 5 years on this one purchase.

These batteries are such a disappointment!! They are so weak in performance that they seem like they were already used. I used them in my electric toothbrush and it seemed powerless and drained very quickly. Also used in my headlight for couple of hikes and it was so dim that I had to go back to other battery brands. I cannot even return them now as I did not have chance to use them until now and return window already passed. Now I am stuck with this useless pack of 20 – what a waste of money 🙁

And they work well. The best part about them is the amazon logo with the pretty grey and green. Sometimes I just lie there in bed, caressing the batteries close to my heart. They’re so pleasurable. They can provide energy for a variety of products, including tickle me elmo’s and other rubbery-devices: such as remote controls and hand held flashlights. Aint nothin basic bout deez bad boys.

What can I say?? I am thoroughly disgusted with this purchase! This is an outrage this product is sold and backed by Amazon!!! These batteries are only 4 months old and totally bled out all over my iPad! They ruined the item I was using them in. They seeped all over the counter and all over the charger. Completely destroying everything in their path!!! Nevermind a refund on this purchase, how about Amazon replace my $1,000+ iPad!!!
